Good Things About Being in the Metaverse (Part 2) — The Reality of Event Management

Hello. How’s everyone doing?

I’m Hiro from Full Body Tracking Lab.

In this second part, I focus on event management in VRChat — the skills it develops, the challenges it presents, and why it’s one of the most rewarding aspects of metaverse life.

Running VRChat events teaches you real-world applicable skills: project management, community building, conflict resolution, marketing, and leadership. These aren’t theoretical — you practice them live with real participants.

But event management also has unglamorous realities. Dealing with trolls, managing no-shows, handling technical failures mid-event, mediating conflicts between attendees. These challenges test your patience and creativity.

Despite the difficulties, creating a space where people genuinely enjoy themselves — where strangers become friends and communities form organically — makes every headache worthwhile. That feeling of “I built this, and people love it” is uniquely satisfying.
