The Core Idea
I speak my thoughts through voice input. AI receives that raw, unstructured stream of consciousness and transforms it into organized, polished writing — while preserving my voice, my ideas, and my perspective.
I’m not outsourcing my thinking to AI. I’m using AI as a refinement layer for my own thinking.
Why Voice, Not Typing?
Speaking is 2-3x faster than typing. But more importantly, speaking produces more authentic thought. When typing, you unconsciously edit and structure. When speaking, raw ideas flow freely — including insights you didn’t know you had.
Voice input captures the natural rhythm of thought. AI then structures it without losing the original personality.
The Harness Makes It Consistent
Without a harness, AI might produce good writing that sounds nothing like you. The harness ensures:
- Your established persona and voice carry through
- Knowledge base provides accurate technical details
- Quality checks catch deviations from your style
- Memory maintains consistency across articles
My Workflow
- I speak about a topic (10-20 minutes of raw voice input)
- AI organizes the stream into structured sections
- Quality hooks verify tone, persona, technical accuracy
- I review the organized version (reading or listening via text-to-speech)
- Adjustments are made based on my feedback
- Final version is saved to Obsidian
The result reads like I wrote it — because I did. AI just helped me organize and polish what I was already thinking and saying.
Why This Matters
Harness writing solves the AI writing paradox: people want AI’s efficiency but their own voice. By making yourself the source (through speaking) and AI the refiner (through the harness), you get both.
Every article I publish is my thinking, my perspective, my experience. AI helped shape it, but the substance is entirely mine.
